GRREC Welcomes 2 New School Districts

GRREC is pleased to announce effective July 1, 2011 Russell County Schools and West Point School will be joining our Cooperative Group. Russell County Schools, located in Jamestown Kentucky has 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school.  West Point Independent School is looated in located in Hardin County on the Ohio River serves Pre-school through 8th grade students. We welcome these two members to the GRREC Region!

A Day of Discovery

GRREC Welcomes New District Member

GRREC is pleased to announce Muhlenburg County Schools as our newest district member.  Muhlenburg County Schools, located in Powderly, KY has 5 elementary schools, 2 middle school and 1 high school.  We welcome the folks of Muhlenburg County to the GRREC Region!

Classroom Strategies to Increase ACT Scores

The Classroom Strategies to Increase ACT Scores (English, Reading, and Science) workshop (#051-12) will be rescheduled for Feb. 3. from 8:00 – 11:00 CST.  The Classroom Strategies to Increase ACT Scores (Math) workshop (052-12) will be rescheduled for Feb. 3.  from 12:00 – 3:00 CST.  Please contact Jana Kirchner at jana.kirchner@grrec.ky.gov for details.

REMS Meeting Rescheduled

The REMS meeting scheduled for Friday, January 13 and has been rescheduled for January 23, 2012 beginning at 8:30 CST at the GRREC facility at 230 Technology Way, Bowling Green. 

GRREC Inclement Weather Cancellation Policy

The Green River Regional Educational Cooperative follows the lead of Warren County Public Schools for weather related cancellations.  If Warren County Public Schools are closed for the day, due to inclement weather, all workshops scheduled at GRREC for the day are cancelled as well; however, the GRREC office will be open and available to assist you in any way.  Please always feel free to contact the GRREC office at 270.563.2113.  

Literacy and Math Consultant Positions

The Green River Regional Educational Cooperative (GRREC) invites applications for the positions of Literacy Consultant and Math Consultant to serve 35 local school districts.

These positions require a Master’s Degree in education with certification in special education or a related field preferred.  Must also have a minimum of five years teaching experience; experience as a trainer or presenter; demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional and assessment practices/strategies; demonstrated knowledge of Kentucky Core Academic Standards; strong communication and interpersonal skills

Position requires travel throughout the entire GRREC region and to Frankfort.  Office location TBD.
