Alternate K-PREP: Understanding the Alternate Assessment Process
September 9, 2013
8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

The Kentucky Alternate K-PREP was developed to provide schools and programs with a valid and reliable means of assessing the instruction provided to students with moderate and significant disabilities. Kentucky Alternate K-PREP is based upon two components: Attainment Tasks (AT) and Transition Attainment Record (TAR).   The Kentucky Alternate K-PREP is designed to meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 2004 amendments.

In this session, the participants will be provided with an introduction to the Kentucky Alternate K-PREP process for those who are unfamiliar (0-2 years experience).  The two components of KAAP will be outlined and reviewed.   In addition, the participants will have an opportunity to browse the Kentucky Alternate K-PREP website to become familiar with resources available and to take the required online quiz.

Each participant is required to bring the Kentucky Alternate K-PREP guide downloaded from the KAAP website.

Registration deadline: August 30, 2013.
