Digging Deeper into Mathematics Common Core K-2 Elementary and Special Education Teachers

Join us for an intensive three-day workshop series focused on Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade teachers deepening their understanding of the mathematics behind the standards driving instruction.

Participants will dig deeper into the Mathematics Common Core Standards through model lessons with master teacher practitioners developed from Teaching Student Centered Mathematics by John Van de Walle.
Participants will:
- Closely examine the standards at each grade level
- Experience a student-centered, standards-based classroom environment
- Engage in (and leave with) classroom-ready tasks specific to the most difficult-to-teach standards
- Learn content-specific differentiation strategies
- Discover how to integrate the Mathematical Practice Standards to promote student thought/discourse
- Network with other teachers throughout the region
