Makerspace II

The Green River Regional Educational Cooperative is pleased to offer this one-day training for teachers and library media specialists interested in creating a functional Makerspace in their school or classroom. Investigate the nuts & bolts of different types of setups, and explore a variety of technology tools that can help bring your Makerspace to life. Enjoy an e-textile “Make-n-Take” and leave with your very own flickering LED hair bow or bowtie – guaranteed to help “light up your life!”

In this training, participants will:

  • Envision a Makerspace plan to meet your students’ needs and best utilize your physical space.
  • Explore technology tools such as 3D printers, MaKey MaKeys, Little Bits, Squishy Circuits, LilyPad Arduinos and more.
  • Learn basics of online tools and apps such as TInkerCAD, Aurasma (augmented reality) and kid-friendly computer coding programs.
  • Experience Breakout EDU, an engaging learning tool that works across multiple content areas.
